The “P-C” Family

The P-C Family is the first family that First Win agreed to help. As many of you will recall, this family was in desperate need of help. They were homeless, the husband/father had abandoned the family, and M, the mother, was pregnant with her 5th child. First Win, through the generosity of private individuals, was able to move the family into a new residence at the beginning of the new year following the arrival of the new baby.

First Win has continued to support the family by providing them with rent free accommodations, food, diapers, and other essentials while also assisting them in obtaining governmental assistance.

We have received positive updates from the older children’s counselors that they are doing great at school and have adjusted great to their new environment. A, who is 7, goes outside at 5:45 a.m. to catch the bus and is often not home until 5:00 p.m. J, who is 10, is always excited to kick the soccer ball when we stop by. R is all smiles and loves to play cars or color. D, at 14, is a huge help to her mother.

The goal now for the family is independent sustainability. To that end, First Win has partnered with MCH Family Outreach who has agreed to provide a social worker to help guide the family into being able to independently sustain themselves.

We are excited to partner with MCH Family Outreach and believe they will be an invaluable asset for other families First Win will help out in the future.
